Chanel Poudre Universelle and Dior primer

Recently I also purchased the Chanel poudre universelle and Dior Capture Totale makeup base.  I'm not sure they make a difference to be honest.





I got samples of a Chanel sunscreen, CC cream, Dior J'adore fragrance, and Dior's hydralife serum.

Eyelash Curler and Concealer from Chanel

Today I purchased an eyelash curler and a concealer (I'm actually using the shade 20) from Chanel.  I got a sample of the Le Blanc serum and last time I got a sample of CC cream.  I felt that the salesperson was rude because she was not friendly.  I tried to talk to her but she ignored me and I asked her for a sponge to apply the concealer with but she said no even though in other stores they would give you 10 if you asked for one.

Eyeliner from Chanel

Today I decided to purchase a Chanel eyeliner: the stylo yeux waterproof one in Noir intense.  I moved to another city and my Dior eyeliner is on its last legs, and don't have my other eyeliners with me.  It may have just been the lighting in the mall, but when I applied the eyeliner in the mall, it looked super dark, which is a good thing.  At first the sales associate showed me a look where it was brown on the lid and a gold-ish colour on the crease.  I was not impressed at all because that's too common, but the eyeliner made everything look fantastic.

Dior Eyeshadow from Nordstrom

I decided to order this from the Nordstrom at the Stanford Shopping Centre.  You know that feeling you have about a special guy, "The first time I saw him, I just knew I had to fuck him"?  Similarly, I could not get this eye shadow palette out of my head.  When I first saw the colours, I thought I didn't particularly need it (hypothetically - wasn't thinking of buying another eye shadow at the time) because I already have a beige, a dark brown (though this one might be darker - we'll see), and a bronzey colour (though this one might be different - we'll see too).  True, I have often bought eye shadow palettes where I know I'll only use 2 of the colours, but lately I'd prefer to buy something where I could use all the colours.

Anyways, what made my mind keep returning to this was that it was part of the holiday 2013 collection.  The fact that it is specially for Christmas makes me feel warm and happy inside, so that's why I got it :)

From my order of the Dior eye shadow I got 2 samples of the Miss Dior fragrance and 1 sample of the J'adore fragrance.

Dior Nail Polish + fragrance samples from Nordstrom

I purchased one of the nail polishes from Dior's holiday collection this year, Frimas.  I thought it would look good for Christmas.

My tips and tricks about nail polish:

When you wear nail polish and ask a guy that you're attracted to if he likes your nail polish, he WILL take your hand and look at the nail polish.

Remember, you want your hands to look fabulous because guys are imagining your hand around their cocks :)

By the way, with that order Nordstrom is also sending me fragrance samples of Lancome La Vie est Belle, Chloe Roses de Chloe, and Narciso Rodriguez For Her.

Scarf from Alexander McQueen

I ordered a "classic silk chiffon scarf" from the Alexander McQueen in Bal Harbour.  When men see me wearing this scarf, they will want to rip my clothes off and enter me.  I got it in the apricot colour.

YSL Eyeshadows + GWP from Saks, Chantecaille + La Prairie Samples

The Saks Beauty Event is going on now where you can get a free tote bag and makeup bag when you spend $150, so I purchased some eye shadow.  I wanted the Garden of Eden 5-colour harmony and the Boston store didn't have it, but they did something called the "locator service."  She said that sometimes the computer shows the products are available but they really aren't, so I really hope it's available.  I'm dying to get my hands on it because I tried it on in Debenham's in Westfield Shepherd's Bush and it was so lovely.  Also the overall look of the 5-colour harmonies is very nice.

I also purchased the midnight of the 5-colour harmonies and I chose from the ombres duolumieres, the oatmeal and petroleum blue colour.  It looks really nice in the picture and I will definitely use both of the colours.  I chose the white tote bag.

I also got samples of the cellular oil control tonic and cellular emulsion matte pore minimiser from La Prairie (don't remember if I mentioned this before).  These are pretty new products.

Eyeshadows from Mac

I had e-mailed Mac telling them that my Technakohl eyeliner's tip broke off the first time I used it and also mentioned I didn't like the Woodwinked eye shadow.

A few days ago I tried using the eyeliner again and the tip broke off twice.  I had only used the eyeliner around 5 times.  It's disappointing because I was hoping to save money by using Mac eyeliners, which are $16 instead of $30.  Hopefully it won't break again....

Anyways, I called them again and they said they would send me products of the same value.  I decided to just get 2 eye shadows.  I chose All that glitters and Satin taupe since they are bestsellers.

     

Eyeliner and Eyeshadow from Mac

I decided to also get the Mac eyeliner for $16 since it's half the price of a Dior eyeliner (or from a similar brand).  I got the Technakohl in Graph Black because it's retractable, so I don't need to sharpen it.  The tip broke right away on the first application :'(  I also got the Cranberry eye shadow to match the bracelet and it looks quite dramatic but I can tentatively say that I like it so far.

 

Mac Brushes + Burberry Gift Card + Burberry/Hermes samples

I thought that a friend of mine lied to me and that he looked down on me.  That upset me, so I decided to get 2 more Mac eye shadow brushes.  I had wanted the 224 and the 239 (that's for putting colour onto your lids), but the 239 wasn't available.  So I got the 275 instead.

Burberry mailed me a $50 gift card because they cancelled my eye shadow order twice.  I will eventually be purchasing an Earthy Tone blusher with that because I only have 1 blusher (the Dior Rosy Glow) and I want to try a darker colour.  Burberry did give me 3 samples of the Burberry Body perfume and 3 samples of the sheer velvet foundation.  Also, previously Hermes sent me a sample of the Jour de Hermes and Voyage d'Hermes perfumes.  I will probably give them away.

La Prairie Platinum Gift Bag

I was very excited today when I received a La Prairie gift with purchase about their platinum collection.  La Prairie from Saks Fifth Avenue in Boston sent it to me so I could try the platinum collection since their anti-aging line was not working for me.  It came in a very lovely crescent silver makeup bag with crocodile detailing.  It includes the Cellular Cream Platinum Rare (5 ml), Cellular Serum Platinum Rare (5 ml), and the Cellular Eye Cream Platinum Rare (3 ml).

I will give the actual products away because I really enjoy giving presents, but I collect makeup bags so I must keep that :)  I also received a brochure about and sample of the new cellular mineral face exfoliator.  I'll have to decant it somewhere.  Exfoliators only need to be used 1-3 times a week based on your skin type, so they last for ages.  Currently I own the La Prairie Essential Exfoliator which is purplish with seeds and the Aveda Tourmaline exfoliator which I've only used a few times.

Brushes and Eyeshadows from Mac

I've decided to purchase a few products from Mac.  Previously, I preferred to get makeup from "classic" brands like Dior, Chanel, and YSL because of the allure of their elegant reputation.....But now I've decided to tread on unknown territory!

Mac 217 blending brush: I'll be using this for my crease.
I have 2 eye shadow brushes from Dior, from before they redid their brushes.  (I also use their foundation brush, blusher brush, and kabuki brush.)

I've also decided to get the Mac eyeshadows Espresso and Woodwinked :)  They're some of the bestsellers, so they should be fabulous!
